Burpee Challenge

March Challenge is to complete 1400 burpees and cut the sugar! For the burpee challenge we are following this plan in the photo. How are you doing?

Courtney — I am feeling good this month. Really on top of things. I like the burpee challenge, because there is something to do each day, making it easy to remember which day I’m on and what I need to do. I’m trying to do all my burpees consecutively to make it a bit harder. I’m up to 55 consecutive and to be honest, kinda impressed with myself. The challenge also works nicely with other workouts, so it has been easy to incorporate.

The sugar challenge. Oh boy this one was tough but necessary. I am a sugar addict. I decided to go full force and cut all sugar — refined and replacements. After two weeks, I have given up coffee, non-plain yogurt, desserts, and even breads and almond butter that contain sugar. I have discovered that there is hidden sugar everywhere! However, I have made the adjustment and am feeling good. I know I can do it for another two weeks, but there are something that I have made changes for a lifetime! I am only buying almond, peanut butter and bread without sugar. I am also more careful about reading labels and ingredients for the ‘hidden’ sugars. So far, this has been my favorite challenge.

Natalie —   I like the burpee challenge, mostly because I can incorporate them into my regular workouts, so they don’t feel quite so disconnected.  As we move past the 50 mark, i’ve stopped doing them consecutively, and started doing half in the morning and half in the evening.

i thought the sugar challenge would be easy.  I don’t have a huge sweet tooth and we already avoid most packaged food with added sugars.  However, the best way to get me to crave a food is to ban a food!  All I want to do is sit down with a bag of jelly beans and  nosh!  And don’t even get me started on the boxes of girl scout cookies hanging out in the freezer.  Waiting.  Calling.  i’m going to be happy when this challenge is over!
